5 000 women die every year due to honour killings

In the West, honour killing is almost exclusively associated with the killing of females by close family members with the aim of undoing the 'loss' caused by actions deemed to be offensive to their culture, particularly in terms of 'sexual immodesty', including adultery, refusal to accept arranged (sometimes forced) marriage, being a victim of rape, and merely refusing to adhere to hijab dress code.

I understands its there culture and everything. but that is just messed up! I mean killing a women cause she is raped. HOW THE HELL IS THAT EVEN FAIR! *is angry has smoke coming from head.*

that's one cause but wikipedia wasn't too specific
there's other things, anything where they feel as though she has brought shame apon the family name. eg. being with someone of another religion, dressing inappropriately etc etc
